Mirai

I happened to come across the video of musicals that Moriyama Mirai was playing in. I only knew him as an actor on TV, but in that video he danced and sang really good. And I mean it.. At first, I thought he did lip-sync. His "beat it" by Michael Jackson was too good to be true, but then found out he was actually singing that song. I was thrilled so wikied his biography.

He learned Jazz dance, tap dance, hip-hop, and ballet since 5 years old. He loved Broadway musicals and admired Michael Jackson since he was little. He is multi-talented; he could sing great, his dance is super, his is highly praised for his acting skill among directors and great senior actors/ actresses. No wonder his performance was way beyond the average of other Japanese performers.
For recent years, he is teaching himself English, reading books like Alchemist, traveling around alone, and being into Jazz music a lot. I somehow felt close to him maybe because he and I have some things in common such as fancying reading, dancing, traveling, and not having a cellphone.

Inspired by his work, I now have strong desire to go to plays and live performances and musicals once again, remembering the days I spent a lot of time for art in New York last year.

    彼らのような人をせめて潰さない社会であってくれることを願うばかりです。
